Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Teach the District curriculum and actively participate in the curriculum alignment/development process. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned or approved alternative certification.
ESL Certified preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Knowledge of subjects assigned.
Ability to research and develop teaching units.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Student teaching or approved internship.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies/Curriculum Expectations
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Align resources used to the curriculum. Align teaching to the District curriculum.
Supervise teacher aide(s), volunteer(s), and student teacher(s) as assigned.

Be able to meet mental demands of teaching assignment (i.e. maintain emotional control under stress). Be able to meet physical demands of teaching assignment (i.e. frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing).
